Subject: Nor'easter
Where: Boston, Massachusetts
When: 9/26/2026
Description: Nor'easters are a type of cyclone that only form in the northeastern United States. They are formed from cold air coming down from Canada and the warm waters of the upper east coast. These storms can cause heavy rain, snow, hurricane force winds, flooding, and more.
Interesting Fact: These storms are unable to form in any other place in the world, due to the unique climate conditions of the northeastern US.
Observations: We saw upwards of 50 knots of wind in the one we weathered, and about 7 inches of rain. The storm lasted for about four days in the area we were in.
