Description: Tarpon can grow up to 8 feet long and 280 pounds. The lower part of the jaw protrudes out farther than the rest of the face, giving them an interesting look. The most common way they catch prey is using short bursts of energy, not giving the animal enough time to act.
Interesting Facts: There is a large change in habitats in different stages of their life, the younger fish stay in shallow and sometimes brackish water, while the adults keep to the deeper ocean.
Personal Note: We've seen quite a few large groups of them in a lot of the places we go
